For recreational cannabis orders, the person picking up must be the same individual whose ID was used to place the order. Medical patients may have a designated caregiver pick up their order if that caregiver is listed on their medical card. This is a Montana regulation we follow to keep everyone safe and compliant. In Montana, recreational cannabis buyers can purchase up to 1 ounce (28 grams) per transaction. At home or on your private property, you can legally possess up to 16 ounces. Selling or distributing cannabis without a license is illegal, and public consumption including on federal lands or in hospitals is not permitted. Driving under the influence of cannabis is also illegal. Medical cannabis patients should follow their state-issued possession limits. Yes, every time! All purchases require a valid, government-issued ID. For recreational cannabis, you must be 21 or older. Medical patients need a valid Montana medical cannabis card. Yes, cannabis is legal in Montana for recreational adults 21 and older, as well as for registered medical patients with a valid card. Non-residents are welcome to purchase recreational cannabis at Greenhouse Farmacy as long as you have a valid government-issued ID showing you are 21 or older. Recreational cannabis in Montana is subject to a 20% state excise tax, and while we love calling Missoula home, there is also a local 3% tax added here in town. If you are shopping with a valid Montana medical card, your state tax drops down to 4%.
